Concept & creation:
Sacred Places is an artistic network, where skills and disciplines are brought together. Starting from ‘a dream’ or ‘a particular idea’ we create artistic tailor-made projects. For each project we bring the people and skills together that are needed to develop the concept and creation for a unique project.

In the run-up to the 125th anniversary of René Magritte, which will take place in 2023, the City of Brussels is presenting a light installation in the centre of the Cour de l'Hôtel de Ville in honour of the surrealist painter and in collaboration with the CALIDOS studio, the Magritte and M. Herscovici Foundation, the MRBA and the ADGP image bank.
It is a backlit inverted pyramid whose 4 faces and base are HD prints on fabric of René Magritte's painting "La Malédiction" (1960).
This work invites passers-by to immerse themselves for a moment in the unusual world of the Brussels painter, encouraging them to look beyond the appearances and contradictory symbols of the sky.
If there is one thing that symbolises Winter Wonders, it is the famous Christmas tree.
